Billy Nichols
You could say Dunes Realty is in Billy Nichols’ blood. His family has owned and operated the company for over 50 years! He started out at Dunes just like his father, Gairy--spending high school summers working in the Unit Services Department, delivering linens and doing whatever was necessary to provide the best vacation possible to their renters. When Billy was not working at Dunes, you could find him on the beaches of Garden City and Surfside Beach, and he spent a significant part of his life in the creeks of Murrells Inlet. Whether fishing, water skiing, wake boarding or just hanging out at “The Point” with friends, Billy knows and enjoys everything the “South Strand” has to offer.
While away at college, Billy managed to work two more summers at Dunes, continuing to learn all aspects of the business. He earned a degree in Finance from Wofford College and a Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development from Clemson University, which included classes in finance, law, construction management, architecture, and city and regional planning. After graduating from Clemson, Billy moved to Charleston where he spent two years in commercial retail leasing. In 2010, his father asked him to come home and join the family business. Without hesitation, Billy returned to Dunes Realty as a Realtor Associate as well as remaining an active part of the vacation rental business.
Since returning home, Billy has gotten involved in the community as a Board Member of The Rotary Club of Murrells Inlet (including Past President), Belin Memorial United Methodist Church Building Committee, Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors Legislative Committee and The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce - South Strand Council. Most importantly, Billy and his wife, Kelsey, started a foundation called The Annie Banannie Foundation which helps to fund Traumatic Brain Injury Research at MUSC Children's Hospital. Billy and his wife, Kelsey, live in Murrells Inlet with their children, Annie & Billy, and their black lab, Wally.
